Appearing by Phone/Video

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, most dockets that are being held will be conducted using ZOOM video conferencing software. We will shortly be posting full instructions on this page how to appear for those hearings. Until that time, if you have not received instructions from court administration, please contact us at (360)577-3085 or SuperiorCourtAdministration@co.cowlitz.wa.us for assistance.

We are working on defining the process as we begin to bring the courts back online. Please check back on this page as we will post information as it becomes available. We appreciate your patience in these trying times. Rest assured we are committed to providing access to the courts as quickly as it can safely be done.

All CourtCall appearances require permission from the Court prior to scheduling as most matters are being heard via Zoom. The Court will NOT be dialing into CourtCall on a docket/trial that is being held via Zoom.

Cowlitz County Superior Court allows parties and attorneys to appear telephonically via CourtCall on the following civil motion calendars:

Due to trial scheduling, a particular judge may not be on the normal schedule - please contact Court Administration at 360-577-3085 if you need to inquire about a specific judge or docket.

To set up a CourtCall appearance (once permission has been granted from the Court), dial 888.882.6878 at least 24-hours in advance.  (If you are requesting the $70 CourtCall fee be waived, you will find the forms below and you should start the process at least 2 weeks prior to allow enough time for judicial review and approval.)

You will need to provide the CourtCall Code from the table below for the docket you wish to appear by phone on.

You can find additional information on CourtCall at www.courtcall.com.

The following civil dockets/hearings are approved for CourtCall appearances in Cowlitz County:

Call quality is best if you call from a land line and not a cellular phone. If you are having connection issues or issues hearing while on CourtCall, please contact CourtCall.

The judge may allow telephonic appearances on other matters by special request and prior arrangement.
Parties without attorneys may also use CourtCall to appear at hearings where their physical presence is not required. Fees may be waived by the court if a party does not have the funds to pay for CourtCall. To request a fee waiver, a party must submit both the Declaration to Waive CourtCall Fees and Order Waiving CourtCall Appearance Fee to the court at least one week prior to the time for the hearing. These can be submitted by mailing them to Court Administration, faxing to 360.414.5506 or via email at SuperiorCourtAdministration@co.cowlitz.wa.us. It is the responsibility of that party to call Superior Court Administration at 360.577.3085 to verify if the waiver has been approved by the court. A link to the necessary forms is located below and on our Forms page.
