GAL Signatures Required on Pleadings
The Court has been made aware that in some cases in which a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) has been appointed, orders and final pleadings are being entered without the GAL having the opportunity to review and approve the same.
Because the GAL is a party to the case, any pleading that relates to areas which are encompassed within their order of appointment shall include a signature block indicating that the pleading has been reviewed and approved by the GAL. In the normal situation these pleadings would include temporary and permanent parenting plans or residential schedules and non-parental custody orders.
