Criminal Case Process Changes
After the most recent criminal BAR meeting regarding issues with the 2020 schedule, the following changes will be implemented:
- Starting June 1, 2020, all plea dockets will be one session.This means that all cases set on the plea dockets will now be ordered to appear at the start of the plea docket (Monday at 1:30, Tuesday at 1:30, etc.). The clerk will still schedule these cases for an appropriate time per plea.If the plea will be longer than 30 minutes it will need to be set on a Monday or Friday motion docket.
- Starting June 4, 2020, the Thursday criminal dockets will be split out into three dockets:9:00 am will be OPD A, 10:30 am will be OPD B, and 2:00 pm will contract and privately retained attorneys.
- Starting March 26, 2020, there will be a plea docket added to Thursday at 3:00 pm.This plea docket will be for cases that are set in trial slots for the following week ONLY.To have a case added to this docket you must get judicial approval.Your request to be added to this docket must go to and .
